In Reference to Microwave and VCR Repair:

In February of this year I brought in my two year old Sears Microwave for Repairs.

After Seven trips to ( Name Withheld ) Repair Center in two months, they gave up and told me "Scrap It." -

One trip to Rice's and it works Great !

After that kind of result, I decided to bring in my eight year old VCR which hadn't worked in months.

One trip to Rice's and it works even Better than when it was new.

I think the difference was an Expert Electronics Technician compared to simply replacing parts until it starts to work.

Gentlemen:

In this day and age of space-age technology and automation, my husband and I think it is important to compliment people whenever possible.

We have a service contract on a 19" TV/VCR purchased in February 1996. We took it to ( Name Withheld ) on Paxton Street in Harrisburg, Pa for repairs January 1998. The customer service was practically non-existent and the TV was returned in worse operating condition than when it was taken in. As a resident of Harrisburg area all my life, may I say, the ( Name Withheld ) is HIGHLY overrated. Looking to make HUGE profits with little customer service. Many people I know have had bad experiences with them. Due to a pressing personal home situation at the time and the fact that the TV is only used for taping very little, we decided to live with it.

In my absence on November 10, 1998 my daughter took the 19" TV/VCR to ( Name Withheld ) TV, Harrisburg Pa to have repairs done for the same problem as first noted January 1998 and also the loud, screeching noises it made upon it's return from the ( Name Withheld ) ... I guess we should have called Magnavox before going anywhere. Called December 18, 1998 & was told by Mr. ( Name Withheld ) that he had no idea what was wrong, it was really "messed up" and we should pick it up & take it to Rice's Electronics. Again, it's not used hard, so we wondered how it got "messed up".

We retrieved the 19" TV/VCR and my husband took it to Rice's Electronic Repair on Derry Street, Harrisburg. The people at Rice's were both knowledgeable and polite. They took the time to ask many questions in order to understand the problem better and to fix it for us. And the very best news, the TV seems to be working great. I think it is important to pass this information along to you. In the future, we will call Rice's for repairs and recommend them to friends.

We have two Magnavox TV/VCR combos and one 52" projection TV. We carry your service contracts on all. I'm sure you can understand how frustrating it is to pay alot of money for these contracts and have a very hard time finding good service. Again, we commend Rice's Electronics.
